Samsung Rumored To Triple Galaxy S6 Edge Production

samsung-galaxy-s6-edge_012When Samsung announced the Galaxy Note Edge last year, they said it was a limited production device as they didn’t think it would be that popular, and it seems that with the launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung might have underestimated the popularity of the handset once again because according to reports, Samsung is expected to increase the production.

The report claims that Samsung will be tripling their order of Galaxy S6 Edge components, suggesting that the company is anticipating that the handset will have a lot of demand. This comes from the Korean media who reports that Samsung is currently looking for more touchscreen panel suppliers for the device.

Prior to this, Japan’s Alps Electronics was the sole provider for Samsung’s components but the report claims that Samsung is looking for more companies to supply them and that S-MAC was a possible candidate. It’s interesting to see that Samsung is very optimistic about the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge as it does break the mold in terms of what a traditional smartphone should look like.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models are expected to make their way to the US come 10th of April, with carriers such as Verizon kicking off pre-orders on the 1st of April. So, will you guys be picking up a Galaxy S6 Edge? Or is the traditional Galaxy S6 more towards your liking?
