Sprint’s Nexus 6 Gets Android 5.1

Yes, we do know that Verizon will be offering the Nexus 6 from tomorrow onward, but for those of you out there who happen to be rocking to the Nexus 6 from Sprint instead, here is some news for you – that particular model will begin to receive the long awaited Android 5.1 update from today, now how about that when it comes to efficiency?

Having said that, Verizon’s Nexus 6 will already arrive with Android 5.1 pre-installed, so there is virtually no waiting period for those who are subscribers of Verizon. As for Sprint subscribers who own the Nexus 6, you should be looking forward to enjoying the Android 5.1 update today, where this brand new build will bring with it Lock Screen notifications, a brand new “Recent Apps” menu, the much talked about Material Design, a 64-bit ART compiler that paves the way for the speedier opening or launching of apps, as well as Project Volta that touts to deliver better battery life.

Apart from that, this particular update will also be able to fix a problem which saw duplicate SMS messages being sent out (being an annoyance to those who are on the receiving end), not to mention enhancements to those who send MMS messages to the U.K. Heck, to top it all off, there is also protection against an accidental Factory Reset, now how about that?
