Whenever a new major software update is released in most cases the newer models get the update first before it is rolled out for older models. This is precisely what we have been seeing with the Android 5.0 Lollipop roll out, and it’s not surprising at all, this means that HTC One (M7) owners have had to wait for quite a long time in order to get a taste of Lollipop. Their wait is coming to an end though. HTC’s Mo Versi has confirmed the T-Mobile HTC One (M7) Lollipop update release date through Twitter.

Mo Versi, the vice president of product management at HTC, tweeted earlier today that this smartphone is going to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the coming week.

He actually provided a concrete release date. T-Mobile has received technical approval for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and it has been confirmed that the update will be released for HTC One (M7) on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015.

In just a couple of days the wait will finally end for all HTC One (M7) owners on Magenta. The carrier will roll out the update in stages so it might take a while for Lollipop to go live across all regions.

When it does, owners will receive a notification on their device, informing them that an update is ready to download and install.
