We have known for a while now that the Cyanogen team has been working on a Lollipop release for the OnePlus One. Both companies, OnePlus and Cyanogen, have had a falling out which led to OxygenOS. It’s the company’s first official ROM for its first smartphone and it has already been released, bringing a taste of Lollipop to the OnePlus One. CyanogenMod 12S has still not been released, but expect it to arrive in the next few days.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei was asked on Twitter if he could reveal when CyanogenMod 12S will be released for the OnePlus One. He said that the software has received certification from Google.

This means that a very crucial step has now been taken care of. Given that the update has received certification from Google it shouldn’t take much time for it to arrive. Pei reiterates that, saying that users can “expect rollout in the next few days.”

OnePlus One users have waited for this update for quite some time. CyanogenMod 12S was originally supposed to be released on March 27th. The delay allowed OnePlus to release its own ROM, the Lollipop-based OxygenOS, effectively eliminating the need for Cyanogen’s release.

Those who would still like to use the CyanogenMod 12S release instead of OxygenOS only have to sit tight for a couple of days now.
