A couple of months ago, it was reported that Cyanogen Inc. was undergoing layoffs and that they would be focusing their efforts on apps instead of development on CyanogenMod/Cyanogen OS. The company’s co-founder Steve Kondik quickly refuted those claims, saying that CyanogenMod will not be going anywhere.
OnePlus and Cyanogen might have ended their relationship at the OnePlus One, but the good news is that it looks like the team behind CyanogenMod aren’t quite done with the company just yet, and have recently released a nightly build for CyanogenMod 13 for the OnePlus 3. This means that if you’re not a fan of OxygenOS, this could be a good alternative.
The other day it was reported that according to the rumors, Cyanogen Inc. was undergoing some massive layoffs. It should be noted that Cyanogen Inc. and the work it does for OEMs is separate from CyanogenMod which is largely supported by the Android community, but it seems that there might have been some confusion over the differences of both companies.

For example banking apps do require such security measures as it contains sensitive financial information. But what if you wanted to protect apps that might not come with that feature built-in?

The thing about ROMs like CyanogenMod is that it is largely maintained by the Android community, versus iOS or Android where it has the backing of companies that created it. This also means that sometimes support might not necessarily be so readily available across all devices, at least until now.CyanogenMod has recently announced that they will be expanding the list of supported devices for the ROM. This means that if […]
It’s easy to get confused between the folks at Cyanogen Inc. and CyanogenMod. The former deals mostly with Cyanogen OS which is an operating system that is sold and installed on smartphones like the OnePlus One, Yu Yureka, and so on. CyanogenMod on the other hand is a downloadable and flashable ROM for Android phones. That being said, the folks at CyanogenMod are working on creating an open-source browser by the […]
