You might have heard by now that the next major iOS update is currently in the beta stage. Apple routinely releases beta builds to developers so that they can try them out before the software is deemed ready for public consumption. Apple today released iOS 8.4 beta 2 and the new build brings an overhauled Music app which we had heard about previously, and now it finally makes an appearance.

The iOS 8.4 beta 2 firmware file is now available for download from the Apple Developer website. Do keep in mind though that only registered members of the Apple Developer Program can access this website and download the beta firmware.

Folks who are already running iOS 8.4 beta 1 will easily be able to get the latest release through Software Update on their devices itself. The new firmware only supports select iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models that are compatible with iOS 8.x.

iOS 8.4 beta 2 brings an overhauled Music app for supported devices. The app brings a new design, a Mini-Player, focuses more on album artwork and also adds a much better search feature.

Apple is expected to unveil the new Music app formally at WWDC 2015 in June and the fact that it will be integrated with its new music streaming service that’s built on top of Beats Music.
