apple-imessage-fix

It recently came to our attention that iMessage is plagued by a bug which causes the app to crash and even the device to reboot if a particular string of text is sent to it. Since the app is used for both instant messaging as well as SMS messaging it can be a nuisance to have to deal with an app that’s constantly crashing. Apple did provide a temporary fix for this problem but a permanent solution is part of the latest iOS 8.4 beta, which does include a fix for the iMessage bug.

Apple has seeded the fourth beta of iOS 8.4 to registered developers yesterday and it has been confirmed that the software includes a fix for the iMessage bug.

The bug also affected the Apple Watch and iMessage on Mac, even third party messaging applications such as Twitter, WhatsApp and Snapchat were affected by it.

Surely users will be grateful for Apple now that it has found a fix for this bug, but given that iOS 8.4 is still in beta right now, users might be required to wait for a few days before iOS 8.4 is released for everybody.

It is certain though that iOS 8.4 is going to be released in June because it’s going to arrive before Apple Music is launched on June 30th.
