If you’re after a phone that’s strong, and we don’t mean like a rugged phone, then you might be interested in a handset built by Turing Robotic Industries whose name is probably a nod at Alan Turing, the British mathematician. The company might not be one known to many but they have recently announced the Turing Phone.
In terms of hardware specs the Turing Phone is nothing to shout about. However its construction is what got our attention. The company claims to have built the handset using an alloy called “liquidmorphium” which is apparently stronger than steel or titanium. Along with the special alloy, it will also feature aluminum, ceramic, and plastic, all of which are part of its build.
We have no idea how strong this “liquidmorphium” alloy is, but assuming it lives up to the company’s claims, we doubt bendgate will be a controversy they’ll have to worry about. The phone will also come with a high-level of security and features end-to-end encryption. It will feature a protected communications network that supposedly will prevent any type of intrusion, but these are just claims and we have no idea how secure it truly is.
As for specs, like we said it’s not much to shout about. It will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset under the hood. It will come with Android 5.0 and a 13MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, and will be available in 64GB or 128GB options. The price of the phone is not cheap and it will be priced at $740 for the 64GB model and $870 for the 128GB model. It is expected to be released in the US come 10th of August.
