FIFA 16 Brings Women’s Football Teams

EA has said yesterday that it will be reveal the first bit of news regarding FIFA 16 today and it most certainly has. EA Sports announced today that the upcoming FIFA 16 title is going to include women’s football teams. This announcement comes before the start of the women’s football World Cup next month and will certainly be appreciated by those who have been urging EA to add such teams to the title.

FIFA 16 is going to include women’s national football teams from at least a dozen different countries including but not limited to the United States, Germany, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Australia, China, Italy and others. Women’s national teams will exclusively compete against other women’s national teams in FIFA 16.

EA explains that this was a pretty big change for the FIFA series because a new animation system had to built to accommodate the new players. FIFA 16 includes somes of the biggest names in women’s football such as England captain Stephanie Houghton.

Women’s club teams like Arsenal or Manchester City are not included in the title at launch but EA has not discounted the possibility of them being added at a later stage. FIFA 16 is due to be launched on September 22nd.

Expect EA to talk more about FIFA 16 in detail at its press event next month, today’s announcement was merely meant to give us a bit of news about the new title, more details will certainly follow in June.
