straight-talk-5gb-data

People who would rather choose a MVNO over a big network have a couple of options to choose from and Straight Talk is one of them. Naturally it wants to be the best choice for people looking to switch to more simpler plans and for this reason it’s enticing them with a promise of more data. Straight Talk has announced that it will be offering 5GB of data to all new customers who bring in their own device.

Previously on the standard plan new users would only get 3GB of unthrottled LTE data but now the MVNO is bumping it up to 5GB. The best part is that it’s not changing the rate so the plan remains at $45 per month however the increased data will take effect after the next monthly “refill” date.

Since Straight Talk is a MVNO and doesn’t have infrastructure of its own, it users the networks of Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Customers can purchase or lease smartphones from Straight Talk but they’re better off bringing their own device.

Only customers who bring in their own device will receive 5GB of data, existing customers who are on the $45 plan will continue to receive the usual amount, that is 3GB of unthrottled LTE data.
