Users Reporting Galaxy S6 Front Camera Has Purple Specks

s6_front_cameraNo one likes it when a phone that they’ve just bought comes with defects, but unfortunately these things happen as once in a while, a defective unit will slip past the QA tester. Unfortunately it seems that some Galaxy S6 owners are experiencing some form of defect with their front-facing camera.

As you can see in the image above, there is a purple dot in the photo. The photo was posted on Reddit and it wasn’t too long until many Galaxy S6 owners themselves came forward and confirmed the issue. Apparently this has something to do with the front-facing camera’s sensor being defective meaning that there will be no software fix for this and users will have to return the handset to the store in exchange for a new one.

For our readers who have the Galaxy S6 and are wondering if their cameras are having similar problems, it seems that the issue tends to show up only in low-light photos, so perhaps you’ll have to try and snap a photo with the front camera in a low-light setting to see if you can reproduce it. If you can’t then you should be fine, but if not then you’d probably want to take your phone back to the store. In the meantime are any of our readers plagued by this issue themselves?
