Huawei Employee Reportedly Confirms Company’s Nexus Handset

For the past few weeks it has been rumored that Google is going to introduce two new Nexus handsets this year which will be powered by Android M straight out the box, one of these handsets is expected to be manufactured by LG and the other by Huawei. Huawei has never collaborated with Google on a Nexus device before while LG has, besides it would be the first Chinese manufacturer to make a Nexus handset. There has been no official confirmation yet from either camp but a Huawei employee in the United Kingdom has reportedly confirmed these plans.

IBTimes claims to have spoken with a Huawei employee based in the UK who is familiar with the program, the employee says that Huawei is interested in working with Google and sees the Nexus program as a way to solidify this budding relationship.

The employee is also claimed to have said that the Huawei Nexus smartphone is going to start shipping later this year and that it’s going to have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, nothing else was revealed by the employee about this device.

So far Google and Huawei have not deemed it fit to reveal their collaboration, if they’re working together in the first place, perhaps in the coming months the situation will be much clearer than it is right now.
