No LG G4 Android 5.1.1 Update In The Pipeline Yet

It has merely been a week since LG confirmed that it does not have any plans currently to release the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the last year’s flagship, the LG G3. Some thought that perhaps the company would be quick to release the update for the existing flagship but that doesn’t appear to be the case, as LG said that it has no plans right now to release Android 5.1.1 for the LG G4.

The confirmation has come from one of LG’s carrier partners in the UK as well as the Greek arm of the company, LG Hellas confirmed through its official Facebook page that for now there are no plans to bring Android 5.1.1 to the LG G4.

Unfortunately no reason is provided so we don’t really know why LG has decided to stay off of Android 5.1.1 right now, on the other hand Samsung has already started releasing said updating for its existing flagship handsets.

This obviously doesn’t mean that Android 5.1.1 won’t ever come to LG’s latest handset, the company is merely saying that there are no immediate plans to send out the update.

Perhaps in a couple of months from now the company will have completed work on the update for the G4 and that’s when it will finally decide to roll out Android 5.1.1.
