PlayStation Network Goes Down For Maintenance Today

If you’re unable to access the PlayStation Network today don’t freak out or worry that something bad has happened, Sony has confirmed that it is going to take down the PlayStation Network today for routine maintenance. This is nothing new as the company does this every few months to ensure that all systems continue to run as they should and that there’s no decrease in performance or reliability come what may.

According to Sony this planned maintenance of the PlayStation Network is going to keep it down for about 90 minutes and if everything goes according to plan it should start coming back online after the 90 minutes are up.

The timing provided by Sony indicates that the PlayStation Network will go offline on 9:30 pm PDT June 29th and the work is expected to be completed by 11pm PDT June 29th.

PlayStation owners will be able to log into their account and play even when the Network is down for maintenance. The only thing that will remain inaccessible during this period of time will be PlayStation Video, Account Management and the ability to purchase content from the PlayStation Store.

These things usually don’t end up taking much time unless there are some gremlins but that’s a very rare occurrence, there’s no reason to expect that it would take longer than 90 minutes for all systems to be back online.
