Plants vs. Zombies has been one of the more successful gaming titles to date, no doubt about it, although the franchise itself has seen it evolve from a strictly 2D format to a 3D first person shooter. While it might not be as successful as Angry Birds in terms of popularity, it does have that nice, familiar feel to the game, and PopCap Games has just revealed Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2: Character Class Dev Diary Deep Dive, which is the trailer that you can view in the video above.

This particular trailer will share the story of half a dozen new character classes that will participate in the game, where these new variants will be accompanied by additional never-seen-before maps that include the Asia-themed map, Zen Peak, and the Dino land-themed map, Boney Island.

Needless to say, there is more backstory to pick up in the process concerning the new classes that are introduced, and you will be able to enjoy the additional depth and variety in which they bring to the game via their abilities. In total, there will be 14 classes that amounts to more than 100 characters in Garden Warfare 2, and the new characters are the Imp and Z-Mech, the Citron, the Super Brainz, the Rose, the Captain Deadbeard, and Kernal Corn.
