CNN Puts The Droid Turbo 2’s ShatterShield Screen To The Test

Yesterday Motorola and Verizon officially announced the Droid Turbo 2. The handset comes with some pretty impressive specs, but safe to say that the highlight of the phone was its shatterproof screen, or ShatterShield as Motorola is calling. Basically this display is said to be strong enough where it will not crack or shatter when dropped.

Motorola is so confident of the fact that they will guarantee the smartphone’s display for four years. That being said in a video uploaded onto YouTube by CNN Money, they attempted to see if Motorola’s claims were true, and if the phone’s display is truly as durable as they are saying.

This was done by putting the phone through a variety of tests. Things started out normal by dropping the phone on the ground, something that many people might have accidentally done. They then ran over the phone with a bicycle and even got a horse to step on it with its hooves. The end result is pretty impressive.

There are some dents on the phone’s screen which we guess is normal given the abuse it endured, but as far as shattering, it looks like Motorola’s claims might be true after all. However the rest of the phone is pretty battered but that’s a small price to pay if you hate having to spend money on screen repairs.
