Droid Turbo 2 owners on Verizon should clear up some time this weekend because their handset is receiving an update which brings the latest iteration of Google’s mobile platform. The Verizon Droid Turbo 2 Nougat update release is finally taking place. Verizon has updated its support page for the device to confirm that it has now started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat for this handset.

Google may have released Android 7.0 Nougat last year but OEMs and carriers have taken their sweet time in bringing the update to compatible devices. Over the past few weeks we have been seeing the Nougat update gradually make its way to devices from OEMs like Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony, and others.

Software version 25.11.10.kinzie_verizon.verizon.en.US has been released by Verizon for the Droid Turbo 2. It brings Android 7.0 Nougat and all of the features that are included in this latest iteration such as multi-window mode, quick app switching, bundled notifications, improved Doze mode for enhanced battery life, user interface tweaks, and more.

It goes without saying that this is a pretty hefty update given all that it brings to the table so users should ensure that they are connected to a good Wi-Fi network before they start downloading this update. Verizon has started rolling it out but it may take a couple of days for the update to go live for everybody.
