There has been much speculation about Nintendo’s next console, the company has said that it will go into detail about the Nintendo NX next year, but many just can’t wait to find out what the company has up its sleeve. According to a new report the Nintendo NX is going to be a console-mobile hybrid, having both a console unit and a mobile unit, enabling users to have a unique experience at home and on the road.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Nintendo’s next console, commonly known by its codename NX, is going to be powered by “industry-leading” chips which might enable it to compete against the likes of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

According to the report developers have been provided development kits for the new console, nevertheless Nintendo is going to make us all wait until next year to reveal details about the NX.

Nintendo hasn’t said much about the new console’s design or form factor, but the report claims that it’s likely going to have a console and at least one mobile unit “that could either be used in conjunction with the console or taken on the road for separate use.”

This will certainly make for an interesting experience, one that’s going to be quite unique from what the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One offer. Nintendo certainly needs its next console to stand out from the crowd if it wants its market share to grow further.
