It was expected that Sony will reduce the price of the PlayStation 4 before the lucrative holiday season starts and the company has confirmed that today, last week a leak from Target showed that Sony could discount the PS4 price by as much as $50. Sony officially announced today that it’s discounting the PlayStation 4 by $50 giving those who have been on the fence about purchasing this console an added incentive to put money down and pick one up.

John Koller, vice president of platforms marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America posted on the official PlayStation blog today that starting tomorrow the PlayStation 4 price is being dropped in the United States and Canada.

Customers will be able to pick up the console starting tomorrow for $349.99 in the United States and for $429.99 in Canada. Koller says that Sony believes this new price is going to open the doors to even more gamers that have yet to purchase this console.

The PS4 price cut is also going to be implemented on some of the bundles that Sony has introduced recently, this includes the limited edition Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 1TB PS4 bundle, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection bundle and the limited edition Star Wars Battlefront bundle among a few others. All of the bundles will also get the $50 decrease.

Sony hasn’t said that the price drop is only for a limited time so it remains to be seen if the company ups the price again particularly after the holiday season is over, but for now anyone and everyone can get their hands on the console for $349.99.
