If you happen to have quite a bit of cash to burn and wouldn’t mind owning a piece of movie history then you might be interested in attending auction house Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event later this month. At the event two iconic cars which depicted Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in the Transformers movie will be auctioned, the Scottsdale event takes place from January 23rd to January 31st with more than 300,000 people expected to attend.

The Transformers franchise made its debut on the big screen back in 2007, both Autobots and Decepticons were portrayed in the form of unique custom cars, with fans forming an attachment with the vehicles as well as the characters.

The 1992 Peterbuilt 379 truck portrayed Optimus Prime in the first Transformers movie that came out almost nine years ago, during filming this truck was used as a stunt and picture truck, it’s certainly an important piece of movie history since it portrayed a very important character in the very first movie.

Also on the auction block is a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS “resto-mod” which portrayed Bumblebee in Transformers: Age of Extinction. The movie came out in 2014 and this car is owned by director Michael Bay. It features a custom interior and a transformers logo on the engine cover, it’s packing a GSM LS3 V8 engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission.

No reserve has been set for either vehicle and no estimates have been provided, which will make for a good show come auction day. Bear in mind though that Peterbuilt truck is not street legal and may not be emissions-compliant in all 50 states, which means even if you buy it, you can’t drive it on the road.
