Apple is rumored to be conducting an event in the third week of March where it’s expected to unveil a new 4 inch iPhone, a new iPad and some new options for the Apple Watch. This new 4 inch iPhone has been rumored for months now. An analyst predicts that the company is going to ship 12 million units of this new smartphone in 2016.

Infamous Apple analyst at KGI, Ming-Chi Kuo, predicts that 12 million units of the new 4 inch iPhone are going to be shipped this year. Kuo also believes that this new handset will soon enter mass production.

Much has been said and rumored about the design and specs of this new iPhone. Kuo predicts that its design is similar to the iPhone 5s and internal hardware similar to the iPhone 6s. The package will be priced between $400 to $500.

KGI had previously predicted 18 to 20 million unit shipments for the new iPhone this year but it’s marking it down because of the possibility of a price cut for the iPhone 5s. It’s pure speculation at this point in time since Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about the 4 inch iPhone as yet.

Recent reports suggest that Apple’s event is going to take place on March 22nd and that the 4 inch iPhone, called iPhone SE, will arrive within a few weeks after it’s unveiled.
