OnePlus 2 Update Includes Support For RAW Photos

oneplus-2-review-31A lot of people are content to shoot in JPEG format simply because it is straightforward and for the most part, it can be uploaded and shared on social media straightaway. This is versus the RAW format in which photos are unprocessed and will need further editing and exported to JPEG before it can be uploaded on websites.

However like we said, RAW photos are unprocessed meaning that you have a great control over how the end image will turn out, at least as far as editing the image quality is concerned. The good news is that if you are a OnePlus 2 user, you will be pleased to learn that the company has issued its latest software update in the form of OxygenOS 2.2.1 which according them, will include RAW support in the OnePlus camera.

What this means is that if you can appreciate shooting in RAW, you will now have the ability to do so. So far the OnePlus 2 is capable of snapping some pretty decent photos by itself, but with the support for RAW, users will be able to take their photos even further. Users can opt to edit the photos on their phone through apps like Snapseed, or upload it onto their computer where they can edit RAW images in applications like Adobe Lightroom.

The update is now live but as pointed out in the forums, the rollout will be incremental so if you don’t see it yet, don’t worry as we’re sure it will eventually find its way to you.
