Video games inspire other video games, like how the first ever FPS titles like Wolfenstein and Doom spawn countless FPS games since. However there does come a point where inspiration leads to blatant copying, which is what seems to be the case over in China where according to a recent post on Reddit, someone’s developed a game that looks remarkably similar to Blizzard’s Overwatch.
As you can see in the photo above, the design of the characters appears to be similar to Overwatch in terms of their cartoony nature. The photo below also shows what seems like the game’s UI which once again if you have watch Overwatch gameplay videos, will look awfully familiar. The game is called Legend of Titans and it seems to be in development as we speak.
Interestingly enough Overwatch rose from the ashes of Blizzard’s Project Titan so we’re not sure if the Legend of Titans was also inspired from that. What’s also interesting is that the photo above shows the game running on a phone, so we have to wonder if the game in question was designed for mobile or if it will run on both PC and mobile?
We suppose to be fair, there have been some comparisons made between Overwatch and Team Fortress 2, but what do you guys think of this Chinese-made game? Would you call it inspired, or a rip-off?
