It has been confirmed today that Persona 5 U.S. release has been delayed until 2017. It’s not going to be released simultaneously in Japan and the United States. The split release will see the game coming out in Japan on September 15th, 2016, while the English translation destined for players in the United States will be released in February next year. The release was previously promised to take place in 2016.
Persona 5 is the fifth iteration in the Persona series. The game was originally supposed to be released for PlayStation 3 back in 2014 but the release was delayed to 2015 and the title was announced for PlayStation 4.
That plan didn’t work out as well, and that’s when developer Atlus said that Persona 5 will be released in Japan and the Americas in 2016. It confirmed the release date for Japan just last month and has now confirmed when the game will be out in the United States.
As long as there aren’t any further delays, Persona 5 is going to be released in the United States on February 14th, 2017. That’s five months after the Japanese version of this game comes out on September 15th, 2016.
Atlus is yet to confirm the European release date for this title, it’s release plans for other markets across the globe are not known yet, hopefully, the developer will provide more information on that in the near future.
