pokemon-goSo over in countries like Singapore where Pokemon GO has yet to become official, we have heard stories of how someone lost their job after a profanity-laced rant about how Pokemon GO was not available in the country yet. Over in New Zealand, it seems that we are looking at another job loss, except that this time it was by choice.

According to a report from Newshub, a 24-year old New Zelander by the name of Tom Currie has decided to quit his job and play Pokemon GO full time. Apparently one of his goals is to travel the entire country of New Zealand and capture every Pokemon that he can find, and so far he seems to be doing a pretty good job of it.

“I booked busses from all the way down to Invercargill and all the way back up to Cape Reinga so hopefully I can catch some awesome Pokémon on the way. It keeps track of how far you’ve walked and I’ve done around 50 km so far, and that’s with the actual game, walking away, slogging away.”

Currie claims that he is level 20 at the moment and has so far managed to capture over 700 Pokemon, including a 1709 ‘CP’ Vaporeon. His ultimate goal is to catch a Mewtwo which he claims is considered the end-game for many players. Talk about dedication! In the meantime we have heard of people offering driver services as well as catching Pokemon on your behalf.
