Google & YouTube Will Keep You Updated On The Olympics

google_OlympicsWant to stay updated on the who won what medal at the Olympics? Sure, you could always turn to social media for that, but in case you forgot or if you’d rather not spend so much time reading, you’re in luck as Google and YouTube have announced new initiatives that will keep its users up to date on the Olympics.

So how will this work? For Google, searching for Olympics related information via the app on iOS and Android will be able to pull up information like the ones you see above. It will provide photos of the event as well as the results and the medals. As for YouTube, they will list highlights in search results so that you can get information quickly.

According to YouTube’s post, “To help make that viewership experience even richer, we have partnered with broadcasters in more than 60 countries, including the BBC (U.K.), America Movil (Latin America excluding Brazil), NHK (Japan) and many others. These partners will bring official highlights from the Games on YouTube to make sure you can keep up with the most breath-taking moments.”

It sounds like a pretty cool feature so if you are excited about the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics games, then Google and YouTube are probably your best bet at learning what’s going on (save for actually watching the games take place live).
