pokemon-goIt is no secret that Pokemon GO is a successful game, both in terms of how it has impacted our culture, but also how it has impacted its developers financially. Last we heard, the game had already pulled in $200 million in revenue within its first month but that’s not the end of it. According to the latest figures offered up by App Annie, the game could be poised to make as much as $1 billion by the end of the year.

According to Fabien-Pierre Nicolas, the Vice-President, Marketing & Communications at App Annie, “So far, the game is on pace to exceed our $1 billion prediction from early July and surpass any previous mobile game yearly revenues. If console mega-hits like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto can achieve $500 million in a few days, mobile games like Pokémon GO can top the charts for three-plus year. Consider, for instance, the long-standing performance of Puzzle & Dragons, Clash of Clans and Candy Crush Saga.”

It has also been pointed out that the game hasn’t hit its full potential yet, simply because there are still a number of markets around the world that the game has yet to launch in. App Annie points out obvious markets such as China which many companies are starting to target these days, so imagine if the game were to launch in China officially, how much more the developers could make.
