Niantic’s Pokemon GO is currently the most popular game in the world right now. In fact its popularity can be considered somewhat unprecedented as we don’t think we have seen a game hit these kinds of popularity levels before where it appeals to the young, the old, and the inexperienced.
In fact it would seem that the game has actually managed to set 5 Guinness World Records. According to a post on the Guinness World Records’ website, the game has managed to set the record for the most revenue grossed by a mobile game in its first month, where it managed to pull in over $200 million.
It has also set the record for the most downloaded mobile game in its first month with more than 130 million downloads since its release. It also topped the most international charts simultaneously for both downloads and revenue, topping 70 and 55 different countries respectively, and it is also the fastest mobile game to gross more than $100 million.
It should be noted that there are still various markets that the game has yet to be launched in, plus there are also updates along the way that will introduce new features, so we reckon that Pokemon GO’s popularity won’t be waning anytime soon.
