android nougatAre you the owner of a Sony Xperia handset? If you are, you might be wondering when will the Android 7.0 Nougat update be headed your way? Now last we checked, the Sony Xperia X Performance was part of some Android 7.0 beta program, so where does that leave the rest of Sony’s phones?

The good news is that Sony has since updated users with their plans for Android 7.0 and have listed the devices that will be getting the update. According to Sony’s list, this includes handsets such as the  Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance.

Some users have pointed out that the Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z3 aren’t on the list, which means that for now, owners of either of these two handsets are pretty much out of luck. Will Sony change their minds in the future? We suppose that might be a possibility, but as far as confirmed devices are concerned, those two phones aren’t making the cut which is kind of a pity.

No word on when the update will actually begin rolling out, but Sony adds, “We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible, as quickly as we can. We’re really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience – and we’ll be sharing more soon.”
