BlackBerry Working With AT&T To Fix ‘No Service’ Problem On The Priv

blackberry-priv-review_ubergizmo_10It seems that the BlackBerry Priv on AT&T’s network is experiencing some issues. Some users are complaining that they are getting a “no service” error on their phones, and the bad news is that this issue has been ongoing since September. Thankfully not all Priv owners are affected, but clearly this is proving to be rather troublesome and annoying.

The good news is that it looks like the problem has since been identified and a fix is being prepped for a release. In a post on the BlackBerry forums, “The root cause for this issue has been identified, and a solution will be made available shortly as BlackBerry is working with AT&T to expedite the release of a software fix. As soon as this is available the knowledge base article will be updated, as well as this thread so everyone is aware.”

There is no word on when the update will be released, but presumably it will be soon. So far it seems that only AT&T’s Priv handsets are affected by this bug, so if you bought your phone from another carrier this shouldn’t be something you’ll have to worry about, hopefully. Temporary workarounds have been suggested, such as factory resetting, or rebooting, but the success rate isn’t 100%, but until the update has been released, those are options you can try and explore for now.
