This Little Cube Will Brew You The Perfect Cup Of Tea

If you thought that brewing a cup of tea was just about boiling water and pouring it into a cup with some leaves/tea bag, think again. There is a lot of subtlety involved in brewing tea, for those who care about it, and the folks at 42Tea have created a tiny little sensor that aims to help you do that.

How it works is simple: choose what blend of tea you are planning to brew, pop the sensor into the kettle along with some water and boil. The sensor will actually be able to tell you the temperature of the water and will alert users when they should turn the kettle off because sometimes water that is too hot is actually bad for tea brewing.

When the sensor detects all the water has been poured out, it then starts a countdown timer to let you know when it’s time to take out the leaves. Tea that has been steeped for too long tends to end up being very concentrated and bitter. Granted not everyone really cares about how they boil their tea, but if you are one of them, this could be a handy gadget to have.

The 42Tea sensor is expected to go on sale by the end of the year where it will be priced at €48, which admittedly isn’t cheap. However considering how much money people spent on tools for brewing coffee or mixing cocktails, we suppose €48 isn’t too much to ask for.
