Marvel Announces Additional Cast Members For Punisher TV Series

netflix-punisherFollowing the rave reviews of Jon Bernthal’s performance as the Punisher in the second season of Daredevil, fans petitioned Netflix to give Bernthal his own Punisher TV series, in which Netflix seemed to be more than happy to oblige. Now according to an announcement on Marvel’s website, additional cast members for the series has been revealed.

According to Marvel’s announcement, at least five new cast members have been chosen to be part of the upcoming series. This includes Daniel Webber who will play as Lewis Walcott, “a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.” Jason R. Moore will be taking on the role of Curtis Hoyle, “a friend of Frank Castle’s and one of the few people who knows he is alive.”

We are also looking at Paul Schulze who will play Rawlins, “a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle,” Jaime Ray Newman who plays Sarah Lieberman, “Micro’s wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated,” and Michael Nathanson who has been cast as Sam Stein, “a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose  Revah).”

The exact storyline of the upcoming series remains unclear, but if you loved Bernthal’s portrayal of the character in Daredevil, then this is definitely worth keeping an eye out for. In the meantime Netflix had previously confirmed that the Punisher will be released in 2017.
