AT&T confirmed earlier this year that it’s going to launch a standalone DirecTV streaming service later this year, it will rival the likes of Sling TV and PlayStation Vue. The company CEO confirmed yesterday that this service, called DirecTV Now, is going to be launched next month. CEO Randall Stephenson has revealed some more details about DirecTV Now today, including how many channels it’s going to provide and how much it’s going to cost per month.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson has revealed that DirecTV Now is going to feature more than 100 channels, including those from Disney and Time Warner. The company is already in the process of acquiring Time Warner, so it’s not like it will face any problems in getting their channels onboard.

This will make DirecTV Now a very compelling option for those looking to cut the cord. Rival Sling TV costs $20 per month but offers fewer channels while PlayStation Vue is more pricey as it starts at $40 and offers 60 channels.

Stephenson has said that DirecTV Now is going to provide over-the-top streaming of more than 100 channels for $35 per month. The complete list of channels is what I’m interested in seeing but it hasn’t been revealed yet, but since the service is due to go live next month, it won’t be long before the list is officially released.
