The V20 is a bonafide new flagship smartphone from LG and it has some breathing space given that it’s primary competitor, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, has literally gone up in flames. The only real new flagship handset that the V20 is going up against is the iPhone 7 which was also launched about a month ago. LG has taken this opportunity to highlight that its new flagship is off to a good start in the United States, LG says it has sold 200,000 units of the V20 in the U.S. since launch.

These numbers come straight from the Korean company itself. LG sent out a press release in Korea today announcing that it has sold more than 200,000 units of the V20 since it was launched in the United States on October 28th. The figure accounts for sales of carrier-locked as well as unlocked units.

LG says that it was able to sell 200,000 units within ten days of the device being launched and that it saw sales of around 20,000 per day. It pointed out that this is double than what it saw with the LG V10 last year.

The company is taking full advantage of the void that the Galaxy Note 7 has left in the market. It was destined to be one of the best performing Android handsets of 2016 but fate had other plans for the Samsung flagship.

No wonder LG is taking every opportunity it can find to remind people that it has a new flagship on the market.
