Three-Finger Drag Gestures Aren’t Working Properly On New MacBook Pros

apple-macbook-pro-1If you’ve been using Apple’s laptops for a while now, you are probably familiar with the various gestures that you can do on the trackpad. Given that Apple’s trackpads are pretty big, these gestures are almost integral to using a MacBook laptop. Unfortunately it seems that with Apple’s new MacBook Pros, some gestures aren’t working as intended.

According to various user reports, some are claiming that the three-finger drag gesture isn’t working on the new MacBook Pro laptops, or at least not working properly. Users are claiming that sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t, which can be really annoying especially if you are using the laptop without an external mouse.

For those unfamiliar, the three-finger drag gesture basically allows users to drag windows around, resize them, highlight text, and so on, which are pretty much basic features on any given operating system, for it to be working sporadically seems to be highly inconvenient. Some are suggesting that the palm rejection technology on the new bigger trackpads are to blame.

The good news is that apparently Apple has acknowledged this problem which means that we can expect a fix soon in the form of a software update (we’re assuming it’s a software problem), but unfortunately there is no date on its release just yet. In the meantime if you are experiencing this problem, not to worry because you’re not alone.
