Capcom Confirms Mega Man 1-6’s Release On January 5, 2017

mega-man-capcomAbout a week ago Capcom announced that they would be releasing Mega Man 1-6 on mobile devices, covering both the iOS and Android platforms. They stated that the release would be in January, but did not state when exactly in January might we be able to expect it, or at least until now.

In a post on Facebook, Capcom has confirmed that the six Mega Man titles will be released on the 5th of January, 2017. It will be available for download via the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store. Gamers who are interested can actually go ahead and pre-register their interest and they will be notified of the app’s release.

At the moment it does not mention whether or not the games will be paid titles or if they are adopting the free-to-play model, so we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime recent gameplay footage that was uploaded onto YouTube has revealed that the game will be maintaining the same 8-bit graphics that we all fell in love with in the originals.

It also appears that there will be onscreen controls which some of you may or may not appreciate, but hopefully there will also be support for external physical controllers as well.
