Halo Wars 2 Windows 10 Physical Release Confirmed

It has been confirmed that the upcoming Halo Wars 2 game is going to get a physical release on Windows 10. THQ Nordic is teaming up with Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries to bring Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 to retail stores across the globe through a physical packaging release. It has also been confirmed that those who purchase they physical disc of this game will also get access to the digital version of Halo Wars 2 on Xbox One since this is an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

Halo Wars 2 physical release will cover both the standard and ultimate edition of this game, “high-quality packaging” is promised.

“After working on so many titles together with Microsoft in 2016, we are stoked to start the year with another partnership. Being able to deliver such a big franchise to RTS and Halo fans alike, the opportunity to buy and own this game in a beautiful physical shape is something we appreciate a lot,” said founder and Group CEO of THQ Nordic Lars Wingefors.

THQ Nordic says that the physical release is “stunning” and that it provides fans with four-day early access to the core game, the season pass, and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition which is an enhanced version of the original Halo Wars game that’s available for both Windows 10 and Xbox One also as an Xbox Play Anywhere game.

The physical version of the game for Windows 10 is going to require a one-time, non-transferrable online activation upon install with digital token. Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition which includes four-day early access is going to be released on February 17th, 2017 while the Standard Edition is due February 21st, 2017.
