While Samsung has already confirmed that it’s not going to unveil the Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 later this month, the company is going to be present at the event and it’s going to make some announcements. The latest teaser suggests that aside from unveiling two new tablets the company might also unveil the Galaxy S8 processor, at least one that will be included in some variants of the next flagship smartphone.

Samsung’s official Exynos Twitter account has posted a teaser that hints at a new processor. The emphasis on the number “9” suggests that this is going to be the new series of Samsung’s own SoC. Some variants of the Galaxy S8 are going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor but it’s highly likely that some will be powered by the new Exynos 9 series processor as well.

No technical details are known at this point in time about the new SoC that Samsung will likely announce at MWC 2017 but it might possibly be based on the same 10nm FinFET manufacturing process that Samsung is mass producing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 on.

It’s likely that we’ll hear some rumors about the technical specifications of the new processor in the days to come but given that MWC 2017 is just over a week away, we won’t have to wait for far too long to find out the truth.
