Possible Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus Battery Sizes Revealed

One of the important areas that potential customers look at when choosing a smartphone is its battery. After all there’s really no use for a phone packed with the latest and most hi-tech features if there isn’t enough juice to keep the lights on, right? So with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, what kind of batteries are we looking at?

According to the latest reports out of Korea (via The Android Soul), it seems that the Galaxy S8 will feature a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8 Plus will sport a larger 3,500mAh battery. To give you guys a bit of context, this is pretty much the same battery size that the Galaxy S7 packed under its hood. In fact the Galaxy S8 Plus’ battery is smaller by 100mAh compared to the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The report also allegedly cites a Samsung official who “confirmed” the rumored battery sizes, but since we have no way of verifying that, maybe it should be taken with a grain of salt for now. Not to mention Samsung is reportedly trying to clamp down on leaks, so for a Samsung official to speak so freely about the battery sizes and the fact that there will be two Galaxy S8 models is a bit suspicious.

In any case we guess we’ll just have to wait and see, which if the rumors are true should be around March which is when Samsung is expected to make the official announcement.
