LG G6 Sells 20,000 Units On First Day

LG’s new flagship smartphone has been released in its home country of South Korea and local media reports suggest that the device is off to a good start, at least when you compare it to its predecessor. The LG G5 reportedly sold around 15,000 units on launch day in South Korea while the LG G6 has reportedly sold more than 20,000 units on the very first day.

The initial reception of the LG G6 has been good with reviews praising the handset’s impressive build quality and robust suite of features. The G6 is expected to perform much better than its predecessor and some expect that it may even surpass the LG G3 which set a global sales record of 10 million units.

These figures are for retail sales. LG reportedly received more than 40,000 pre-orders for the LG G6 when they were opened up about a week ago so you can see that there’s quite a bit of interest for this handset.

LG is yet to release the G6 is other markets across the globe. It’s going to satisfy demand in its home market first as we’ve seen it do many times in the past.

As far as the United States is concerned, reports suggest that the LG G6 release date for the USA is April 7th. All four major carriers will be selling the handset once it becomes available.
