King, the studio responsible for the phenomenon known as Candy Crush, is now building a new mobile game that’s based on Call of Duty. If you’re wondering why in the world it’s doing that, perhaps you are unaware that King was acquired by Activision Blizzard for $5.9 billion over a year ago. Not a lot of details are available about this Call of Duty-based mobile game right now as it’s said to be in the early stages of development.

King details on its website that its challenge with this project is to create a Call of Duty experience on mobile “that will strive to transform the best console experience fans know and love, while also breaking new ground for mobile and redefining the genre.”

Their approach and ambition towards this project is to be social, fresh, and highly accessible all while providing a mobile gaming experience that’s authentic. The team has been given the freedom to prototype extensively and to think outside the box. They are being encouraged to stretch their expertise to create surprising results.

No further details have been offered by the Candy Crush developer at this point in time so it’s unclear what this game is going to be called and when we can expect it to arrive.
