HTC’s Next Flagship Smartphone’s Render Leaked

We’ve been hearing for quite some time now that HTC is working on a new flagship smartphone that it’s going to unveil later this year. It kicked off 2017 by launching two new handsets and it’s believed that there’s another one in the pipeline. HTC hasn’t said much about it as yet but we’ve already seen countless rumors and leaks. The latest leak brings us a purported render of this upcoming flagship smartphone from HTC.

Rumor has it that the new HTC flagship is called the HTC U and that it’s going to have a 5.5 inch 1440×2560 pixel resolution display. It’s rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 graphics processor, 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It may also feature a 12 megapixel rear and 16 megapixel front camera.

The render you see above claims to show off HTC’s new flagship smartphone but something is amiss. For starters, it doesn’t show a physical home button, a power button, or even volume controls. Where have all the buttons gone?

We can also see that the dual speakers at placed at the bottom of the handset with a USB Type-C port between them. However, it’s the case of the missing buttons that’s intriguing.

Has HTC found out a way to eliminate the need for these buttons or does this render not show the entire picture? To find that out for sure we’ll have to wait and see what else comes up in the days leading up to the launch of this handset.
