New Render Shows iPhone 8 Shell With Rear-Facing Touch ID

We’ve been seeing a fair number of leaked renders that are supposedly that of the iPhone 8. Recently a schematic has surfaced which seems to confirm that Apple could be moving Touch ID to the back of the phone, and now thanks to a new render, we have a cleaner and better idea of what a phone like that could look like.

We have to point out that these renders are leaks, but rather they are renders that were created by Instagram user bro.king. According to bro.king, the renders are based on the recently leaked schematics so like we said, it’s basically a cleaned up version. Assuming the renders are accurate, we could end up with an iPhone that seems to resemble the iPhone 5, although if the rumors of a glass front and back are true, it could be a mixture of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 which really wouldn’t be a bad thing.

It is unknown how accurate these leaked schematics are because for the longest time, the popular consensus and rumors suggested that Apple was working on a fingerprint scanner that would be embedded underneath the display. However it is possible that Apple has yet to figure out a solution that works as intended, and so they could be moving Touch ID to the back of the phone until then.

Alternatively we have heard that Apple could be introducing a front-facing camera with a laser that will be able to scan faces as an alternate means of security beyond fingerprints, but either way take it with a grain of salt for now.
