The Mira Prism Is An iPhone Compatible Augmented Reality Headset

Just last month, Apple made their intentions pretty clear when they announced the ARKit SDK at WWDC 2017. We’ve known that Apple has always had an interest in augmented reality (AR), but the launch of the SDK actually signalled that Apple was looking to do something about it. What exactly will be the result remains to be seen.

While we’re not sure what Apple might have up their sleeves regarding AR, Mira has recently announced that its Prism AR headset is now available for pre-order. This is basically a $99 AR headset that will play nicely with the iPhone, so iPhone users and developers for iOS will be able to craft AR apps and use it with the headset if they choose.

By no means is the Mira Prism considered to be sleek or portable. As you can see in the video above, the visor on the front is pretty big which means that unlike the Google Glass or Snap’s Spectacles, it will be pretty damn obvious that you’re not wearing a normal pair of specs. However it does appear to be pretty easy to use as all users have to do is slide their iPhone into the slot to use it.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, then head on over to Mira’s website to place your order.
