AT&T Likely To Announce Galaxy S8 Active Soon

Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything officially about the Galaxy S8 Active so far but when it was first rumored earlier this year that this variant was in development, it didn’t really surprise anybody. The company has launched “Active” variants of its Galaxy S smartphones over the past couple of years so there’s every reason to believe that it’s going to do that for the Galaxy S8 Active as well. It appears that AT&T is close to announcing the Galaxy S8 Active officially.

The Galaxy S8 Active is only going to have a couple of major differences compared to the normal Galaxy S8. First off, it’s going to have a 5.8 inch display that’s not curved at both edges.

It’s going to have a very durable build so it will be well protected against bumps and bruises. Last but not least, the handset will have a 4,000mah battery. All of the other specifications such as the processor, RAM, storage, and camera are rumored to stay the same.

The leaked renders that have surfaced online so far suggest that the Galaxy S8 Active is even going to have a physical Bixby button like the rest of the variants. AT&T will exclusively sell the Galaxy S8 Active when it’s launched as it has been the exclusive home of previous Active devices.

The carrier has listed the Galaxy S8 Active in the FAQ section of a new promotion that it’s running for those who switch to DirecTV. The fact that a handset which hasn’t been officially announced has been mentioned on its website is proof enough that AT&T is close to announcing the Galaxy S8 Active.

No official communication has been received in this regard so far, but it’s likely that AT&T will make the Galaxy S8 Active official in the very near future.
