Following the success of the NES Classic Edition, it did not really come as a surprise that Nintendo later announced the SNES Classic Edition, or for the Japanese market the Super Famicom Classic. Now for those who want a bit more details about the upcoming console, Nintendo has since released an overview trailer for it.

Note that the Super Famicom Class is basically Japan’s version of the SNES Classic. However we should point out both consoles will sport different games, meaning that what you get on the SNES Classic in terms of games will be different from the Super Famicom Classic, which makes sense given that the console is catered towards the Japanese market.

It also makes the Super Famicom a bit of a collector’s edition kind of console for gamers who want the best of both worlds, although it might prove to be a bit difficult to get your hands on one unless you live in Japan. The console is expected to be launched later this year and if its popularity is anything like its predecessor, you might have a hard time trying to get your hands on it, although Nintendo is promising to improve the production.

For gamers curious about the difference in the games of the Super Famicom Classic and the SNES Classic, you can head on over to Nintendo Japan’s website for the details.
