Sprint CallingPLUS Support For LG G6 Released

Sprint has been quietly rolling out CallingPLUS support for the LG G6 on its network. It’s now the fourth smartphone on the carrier’s network to offer this functionality. The latest update that Sprint has released for the LG G6 includes CallingPLUS support as well as the latest Android security patches.

It’s quite a hefty update at 775MB that Sprint is rolling out over-the-air. The changelog also reveals that there’s support for “wholesale VoWiFi” as well as the latest security patches for Android.

Sprint’s CallingPLUS functionality enables users to use voice and data simultaneously on Sprint’s LTE network or Wi-Fi. Users can thus browse the internet and use other apps that need data services while they’re on a call. CallingPLUS also includes Wi-Fi Calling, enabling users to call or message from almost anywhere users have a Wi-Fi connection.

The CallingPLUS functionality also enables calls to automatically switch between networks as needed to ensure that the conversation keeps going. It also supports sending text messages over Sprint’s network and Wi-Fi networks.

Sprint has rolled out firmware update version LS993ZV8 for the LG G6. The update is being rolled out over-the-air and will soon be live for all LG G6 users on its network soon.
