Last year when Activision announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, it seems that many gamers did not take kindly to the idea of the game being set in the future, resulting the game’s trailer being one of the most disliked videos on YouTube with over 2 million dislikes (ouch), but Activision seems to have managed to redeem themselves with WWII.

Call of Duty: WWII was announced earlier this year and not only has the game achieved more likes for its trailer than its predecessor, but it looks like it has managed to outsell Infinite Warfare as well, at least as far as sales in the UK are concerned. According to the UK charts, WWII has managed to sell 57% more copies than Infinite Warfare, showing Activision that perhaps they should stick to the classics instead of trying to be like too futuristic.

So far reviews of WWII have been pretty positive, so once again it looks like Activision has another hit on their hands. That being said, for the most part Call of Duty titles have done pretty well for themselves. In fact despite Infinite Warfare being extremely disliked upon its announcement, the game actually ended up being the number one grossing game on consoles for 2016, which actually proved Activision right about how the initial dislikes didn’t really matter.
