HTC U11+ Officially Announced With Thinner Bezels

The HTC U11+ has been rumored about for a while now, with HTC posting various teasers of the upcoming handset on its Twitter page. However the good news is that all the anticipation and speculation can finally come to an end as HTC has officially taken the wraps off their latest flagship smartphone, the HTC U11+.

As its name suggests, this phone is the successor (of sorts) to the HTC U11 that was launched earlier this year. Naturally this means that there will be some improvements made to the phone, although in this case it is namely in its display where HTC has gone with a 6-inch 18:9 QHD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5. This is versus the HTC U11 which features a smaller 5.5-inch display.

However despite the larger display, HTC has made it slightly more manageable by shrinking the bezels a tad. It doesn’t appear to be too dramatic of a change, like comparing the iPhone 8 to the iPhone X, but we suppose every bit helps. We’re also looking at the introduction of a 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera with OIS at the back, an 8MP camera on the front, and as for the rest of the specs, it is pretty typical flagship stuff which includes the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

There will also be a 3,930mAh battery to complete the entire package along with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It will also come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, so users won’t have to worry about when the phone will be updated. The HTC U11+ is set for a release later this month in the UK and Europe where it will be priced at £699 and €799 respectively. No word on whether it will be seeing a release stateside.
