Tesla Model 3 To Do ‘Pretty Much Anything’ Via Voice Command

Tesla may not have been able to produce its first mass-market electric car as quickly as it wanted but the company has made solid progress over the past few months to reduce production bottlenecks and streamline production. In a response to additional voice command functionality for the Model 3, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that in the not too distant future the Model 3 will be able to do “pretty much anything” in response to the owner’s voice commands.

Musk was replying to a query on Twitter about additional voice control functionality before the company flips the switch on level 5 autonomy. It’s going to maximize safety as well because almost everything on the Model 3 is controlled using the big touchscreen panel in the middle. There are no buttons, stalks or levers to control things like the climate control, wipers, headlights, seat functions, etc.

Musk says that Model 3 owners can definitely look forward to more voice control, adding that they will be able to do pretty much anything with voice commands. He says that the software team is focused on core Model 3 functionality right now and that’s going to be done soon. They’ll turn their attention towards adding a lot more voice control features after that.

He didn’t provide a timeframe though and in any case, it’s probably going to be a few months before the new voice control functionality arrives.
